VAN GOGH on the GO & LEGO ENGINEERING WITH CREATE IT

The adventure begins as we bring out the creative artist in your child through detailed instruction and demonstrations using a range of ART mediums, pastel, prismacolour and watercolour painting. Campers will also enjoy a HALF DAY of Create IT Engineers, a unique hands-on enrichment program using LEGO, campers will create a variety of different LEGO themed creations. Students will learn the basics of problem-solving, planning + teamwork while constructing and exploring all the possibilities that exist with Lego. Campers will also be put to the test as they compete in a variety of Engineering + team building challenges.

Also back by popular demand, all campers will visit the TRIO SPORTSPLEX on Wed & Fri afternoons exploring exercise and organized sports/activities. (Trio Sportsplex is an indoor turf field located next door to Woodbridge ART SCHOOL. All campers will be accompanied and supervised by our qualified staff) Campers also enjoy a 90min movie on Fri afternoon at our facility.

Michelangelo & Me

A uniquely different collaboration of the Fine Arts & Sculpting to inspire your young artist to create a masterpiece! Campers will receive instruction and demonstrations in the various mediums that influenced this Famous Sculptor. Using Pen & Ink, Pastel, Watercolor, Pencil and Clay, your child will experience an exciting array of artistic forms that will showcase their inner Michelangelo!

EMERGING ARTISTS & MOVIE MAKING 101 *ACT+FILM+EDIT * – New Multi-Media Camp

A NEW & brilliant collaboration of Fine ARTS and Movie Making. Campers will spend half their day creating works of ART using pastel, watercolour, prismacolour and more! Detailed instruction, demonstrations and experimentation with various popular artist mediums, will inspire the creativity in your child! The other half day its……Lights, Cameras, Action! Hosted by CREATE IT Inc., this program, students will learn about story telling, filming techniques, and creative movie editing skills, as they film, edit and create their own Feature Film Movie and Movie Trailer. Using top of the line laptops and HD digital cameras, students will be able to plan, film, and edit their feature film movie from start to finish. On the second to last class, students will have time to also create a one of a kind movie trailer. At the end of the program, students will take home both projects on a Brand new USB KEY.

DYNAMIC DUO! – New

This NEW CAMP is a combination of Fine ART & LEGO Engineering with Create IT. Campers will enjoy a half day of FINE ARTS using many of our popular mediums including painting! The other half day is dedicated to Create IT – LEGO PROGRAM, A unique hands on program challenging students to construct and re-design a variety of the most famous and iconic buildings, bridges and structures, all created out of LEGO! Our YOUNGER Campers will go on several LEGO Adventures, learning about a new recognizable landmark around the world. Using HD Digital Cameras Campers will be able to take different angled photos of their Lego Adventure Creations. At the end of camp, Each camper will receive a brand new USB key to take home with a slide show movie of all their LEGO Adventure Photo Memories.

Our OLDER Campers will work together to design, build and customize a variety of LEGO Creations, while learning a new engineering skill each day. Campers will also be put to the test, as they compete in a variety of team building & problem solving challenges throughout the program, activities Include: The Egg Drop Challenge, The Marble Ball Race, Lego Building Challenges and more! All Campers will enjoy a movie w/popcorn on FRIDAY! Campers will also enjoy a movie w/popcorn on Friday.

TRÈS Chic Fashion – NEW 

Exclusively for your fashionista! In this camp students will create and design their own fashion line of clothing and accessories using influences from the entertainment industry. Students will learn about different body forms in various mediums including prismacolour, watercolour and marker. Fabric swatches, crystals and beads will also be incorporated into their designs. Guaranteed loads of fun for your fashionista!

A creative partnership with Chorus Music & Woodbridge Art School! Chorus Music School is located in the same building complex as Woodbridge Art School.

Pops Stars with Paintbrushes

Woodbridge Art School is proud to announce the return of our most ORIGINAL camp yet! This innovative camp is the ultimate blend of art and music. Your talented “pop-star” will spend half their day learning and developing basic vocal techniques and performance skills at Chorus Music Academy. They will spend the other half day, working with various art mediums to create pieces of art reflective of the musical genre. Audio recording of select songs will be posted on the Chorus Music Sound cloud profile. (2 Camps Available- Choose Pop & Rap Edition or Popular Movie Songs Edition or BOTH!)

da Vinci can Dance! 

Jazz & Hip-Hop Edition!

Leonardo da Vinci was a  famous artist, sculptor, inventor and now he has inspired us to dance!  Campers will spend half their day discovering the mediums and artwork influenced by this masterful visionary and other famous artists and the other half, exploring a variety of dance styles including hip hop, jazz, and free movement dance at Chorus Music Academy. Campers will enjoy a unique week celebrating in this original “art & dance” experience!  

World of Music & Art- New

Campers will spend half their day creating works of ART from around the world, including creating your own DREAM CATCHER! Campers will also use pastel, watercolour and prismacolour to explore Artists and art forms from popular countries, inspiring the imagination in your child! The other half day at Chorus Music Academy, is jam packed with musical activities and fun, campers explore percussion instruments, keyboard/piano, singing, ukulele and recorder (each camper receives their own recorder to keep) The week ends with a music and dance party in our concert studio.

THE ART OF ANIME 

Back by Popular Demand!

In this creative class your child will explore Japanese contemporary drawing styles to draw your favorite characters or create your own! Starting with basic drawing techniques, students will learn about mixed medias using marker and prismacolour. Unleash your inner Manga!

Painting Picassos

Our most popular half day camp, Painting Picasso’s inspires students to put on their artist berets and create works of art in a variety of mediums influenced by this famous artist. Campers will paint on canvas with acrylics and work on easels. Use of color, composition and painting techniques cultivates this poetic painting experience!

The Colourful Palette

This course is dedicated to the fine arts.  Aspiring artists will explore a variety of techniques and materials with detailed instruction and demonstrations. Campers will create refined pieces of art using various mediums inspired by the color palette, including watercolor, oil pastel, prismacolour & marker.

TEEN CAMPS

PASSIONATE PAINTING

Students will learn a variety of techniques in Acrylic Painting. They will acquire the skills to experiment with the creative potential of color, form, line and composition while developing and sharpening their observational skills. During this comprehensive week the students will create two finished masterpieces that can assist in building their portfolios.

DYNAMIC DRAWING

Students will advance their skills of observation and will cover concepts such as form, value, light and shadow, color and proportions and utilize these concepts to convey their personal vision.  Drawing presents an opportunity to experiment with different media, from traditional graphite pencil to a whole range of versatile pastels, pencils and markers.

Perfect Portraiture

Students will study the individual facial features and progress through a series of exercises in graphite pencil &charcoal. The exercises provided will help to further refine their comparative skills, culminating in the creation of a final portrait. A delicate blend of traditional methods combined with contemporary knowledge, this course is highly recommended for portfolio prep. Students can also complete their self-portrait that is a requirement for many regional art programs (RAP).

Water Media Exploration

Go beyond the traditional watercolour experience, explore creative ways of using and applying water media, including guoche, watercolour pencils and inks. To add drama and excitement to the painting process, experiment with sea salts and masking fluid. Experiment with textural effects to achieve contrasts of texture, colour, line and shape. Also a wonderful camp for portfolio building.

MULTI-MEDIA CAMPS

Hosted by Create IT Inc. at Woodbridge Art School.

Students will receive their projects on a new USB key to take home.

Clay Animation

This program puts student’s imaginations to the test. Working together, students will create a story using colourful clay, and learn how to use HD webcams and stop motion technology, to bring their stories to life. Then the students will move on to the editing process, where they get to add titles, sub-titles, credits, music and their own voice recordings, to bring out the WOW factor. After their Clay movie is complete, they will also create a high-quality movie trailer of their Clay movie. At the end of the program each student will receive both projects to take home on a brand new USB key!

HD STORYBOOK MOVIE CREATOR

In this unique program students will first create a storybook story using a variety of characters, animals, cars, toys and popular action figures. They will learn how to take photos using high quality HD CAMERAS, and create their comic book pages, adding speech bubbles, special effects, title pages and more!

Once their story book is complete, students will move on to the editing process, learning how to add sound effects, music, credits and even their own voice recordings to bring their story and characters to life. They will also create a high-quality movie trailer of their story book movie. At the end of the program, each student will receive both projects to take home on a BRAND NEW USB KEY!

VIDEO GAME DESIGN

This program is designed to challenge students in a fun, non-competitive environment as they design and create their own unique video games. Throughout the program, students will create up to 5 different video games. For each game, they’ll learn how to add characters, obstacles, backgrounds, and multiple skill levels. Students will also be able to fully customize their title pages, high-score boards, instruction pages and cheat codes. At the end of the program, each student will receive a copy of everyone’s video games to take home on a BRAND NEW USB KEY!

SPHERO ROBOTICS & CODING 101

This new One-Of-A-Kind program introduces students to the fun and exciting world of robotics and coding. Throughout the program, students will be amazed as they explore how to program, customize and control SPHERO SPRK+ Robots while learning a variety of basic, intermediate, and advanced techniques along the way! Students will also be put to the test using the Lighting Lab APP as they compete in several SPHERO Robotic challenges & competitions. Examples include: The Ultimate Programmer, The SUPER MAZE , Robot Bowling, LEGO Chariot Races, Custom built Terrain Parks, Obstacle Courses & MORE! Don’t miss out on all the FUN! (2 AGE GROUPS)

DIGITAL PHOTOGRPAHY

“A picture is worth a thousand words”. Students will be given the opportunity to explore the world of photography as they create their own photo slideshow movies. Using top of the line digital cameras, going on scavenger hunts, and playing photography themed games is all in the fun of this photographic workshop. Students will also learn how to edit, enhance, and crop their photos using top of the line photo editing software. All photos will be used to create a variety of themed Slide Show movie creations throughout the program. Students will learn how to add titles, music and voice recordings to truly make their slide show movies their own. At the end of the program, each student will take home all their photo slide show movies and photo stills on a Brand New USB KEY!
